Best Tech Deals: StackSocial’s Community Picks for April 23, 2014

Welcome to week 2 of StackSocial’s Community Picks! I’m Allan, the Community Manager at StackSocial. Again, I oversee social media and comment moderation so I have my finger on the pulse of what promotions are resonating with our audience and why. The purpose of this weekly blog is to take the best promotions of the week according to community feedback and share them here.

Here’s what’s creating a buzz this week:

The Name Your Own Price Mac Bundle 5.0

These NYOP Mac Bundles are always a hit and I dare to say that 5.0 is the best one yet. I could go on and on about the value so I will try and keep it short. If you beat the average price (currently $7) you will receive $500 worth of top Mac apps! The included apps are no joke, some of the best on the market. Even if you pay only $1 you will receive 2 solid apps worth $70. There is no excuse not to purchase this banger! Did I mention 10% of your purchase goes to 1 of 3 charities of your choice?

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum

I’m not sure if this is getting snatched up cause it’s only 5 bucks or because this was the holy grail of computer games during the late 90s. Whether you’re in it for the nostalgia or just want a really entertaining game that all ages can enjoy, $5 makes this promo totally worth it. I like to keep games on my laptop for long flights with no internet access and this game is an excellent time killer.

Sound Step Lightning Bluetooth Speaker

This is our 3rd time around offering a SOUNDFREAQ Bluetooth speaker. Only a small percentage of our audience has picked up on it due to it being a lesser-known brand and a higher price point. The ones who have picked this up couldn’t be happier. Simply put, this relatively small speaker will knock your socks off with it’s surprisingly loud output while maintaining incredibly crisp sound quality. It’s portable as well so it can serve as your primary entertainment system in your living room or easily bring it outside for your summer BBQ.

PowerVault

This is our 2nd highest selling promotion of the week and quite frankly, I have no idea why. We sell quite a few portable USB charges and I’m not quite sure why this one is selling like hotcakes. If I had to guess, 10,000 mAhs is pretty damn powerful and for $30 including international shipping, it’s tough to get that much bang for your buck.

Lastly, we have teamed up with Blood Sweat Cheers, InsideHook, and Askmen to offer 10 lucky winners a crack at 1 of the 10 best gadgets of 2014. All you need to enter is an email and a zip code. If you are interest, you can find out more or enter here: https://goo.gl/thtHFW

If you guys have any suggestions for the segment, I’d love to here them! I’m also happy to answer any other questions you may have about StackSocial or life in general. Just contact me on Twitter @AllanBlocker!
