Before I continue, I should warn you that opening an iPhone will void it’s warrantee. This is a very simple procedure, but Apple stores will turn you away for a “tampered phone” once you have removed the back plate.
The following is all you need to know to replace or customize the back plate of your iPhone:
Step 1
Select your replacement or custom iPhone back plate from iphone4parts.com (non-affiliated). This is the cheapest most reliable provider I could find. We suggest picking up the basic iPhone 4/4S toolkit as well which will make installation a breeze. I have ordered 3 back plates from these guys with the free shipping option and always received the item within a week, even though they state longer. Very reliable!
Step 2
Once you receive your back plate and are ready for installation, follow the simple instruction provided in the video below:
