The long-awaited unveiling of the iPhone 6, which is rumored to include models with larger screen sizes, will reportedly be held on September 9, 2014. After a sizable lull in newsworthy activity, Apple will hold the iPhone 6 event, which it hopes will combat the increasing threat from the Android OS and smartphones.
Aside from larger screen size options (rumored sizes are 4.7-inch and 5.5 inch models), the iPhone 6 is likely to feature improved design and processing power and a better camera, and will serve as Apple’s flagship device for the soon-to-be-released iOS 8 operating system.
This iPhone 6 event will most likely be just the start of an exciting end of the year from Apple, with the aforementioned iOS 8 to be released (perhaps at the same time as the iPhone 6?) and the possible launch of the iWatch on the cards. While iPhones typically launch in a 1-2 week window after they are announced, the iPhone 6 release date will not be revealed until the event.
